Contractual Obligations

Lyssabeth's serves as an Agency for facilitating the relationship between Officiant and Clients. Specific roles, responsibilities and terms are outlined in our Contract for Services.

Some of the highlights of our Terms of Service are explained below for easy reference. Comprehensive terms are listed in our Contract for Officiant Services. Note that acceptance of our Terms of Service includes references listed on this page as well as those in our Contract for services, accessible by clicking on the link above.

Payments

Payment for services All ceremony levels require a minimum nonrefundable reservation fee ($100 for Elopements and Basics/$200 for Classic and Premium Customs) with the balance due one month before the ceremony date.  Late fees are assessed on amounts not paid by the due date. Clients may also elect to pay in full. There will be a $10 processing fee added to all partial payments. If you choose to pay in full, this fee will be waived.

All fees paid, whether partial payments or payments in full, are nonrefundable and nontransferable to other parties. In the event of wedding postponement to another date within six months of the original date, monies paid may be applied to the new date.

Our preferred method of payment is online via secure Google Checkout or Paypal. This is the fastest and most secure method to lock in the Officiant for the ceremony date and time.

We also accept credit card payments directly over the phone (Visa, Master Card and Discover). Note that if you elect to pay by credit card directly over the phone, acceptance of Lyssabeth's Terms of Service constitutes credit card owner's authorization to charge credit card for payment.

Lyssabeth's will accept checks and money orders by mail but Clients are advised that that will cause a delay in our ability to guarantee an Officiant for the ceremony date. We cannot guarantee an Officiant for your date and time without receipt of reservation fee.

Within one business day of receipt of payment, Lyssabeth's will e-mail Clients a contract for review and electronic signature.

If balance is not paid in full by seven (7) days prior to the ceremony, officiating services will not be rendered and all prior payments will be forfeited, per our contract.

Additional Fees

Additional fees may include:

Processing Fee for split payments
A $10 processing fee is added to all split payments. This will be reflected in the final invoice. If couple chooses to pay in full, this fee is waived.

Late payments
Final payments are due one month before the ceremony date. A courtesy reminder invoice will be emailed to the email address of record (provided to us at the time of booking) approximately seven days prior to the due date. Late fees will accrue as outlined in the contract for payments not received by the due date.

Fees for late starts
We ask that ceremonies start within 15 minutes of their scheduled time (10 minutes for elopements). If the officiant is able to accommodate a later start beyond 15 minutes, then we charge $25 for each 15 minute period, or portion thereof, beginning with the original scheduled ceremony start time. One hour is allocated for rehearsals (if this is a service for which Client has contracted with Lyssabeth's), Beyond one hour rehearsal time, additional charges of $25 per each additional 15-minute increment or portion thereof will be assessed.

Contract Change Fee
Changes made by Clients that require the issuance of new contracts are subject to an additional processing fee of $30.

Day of Wedding Charges to officiant If there are extra charges involved in getting Officiant to the ceremony site, we ask that Clients pay these to Officiant on the day of the ceremony. These might include: admission fees to your wedding site, park entrance fees, the cost for a ski lift ticket if the ceremony is to be held on a ski slope, or mandatory paid parking (such as in the case in many resort areas). These will be itemized on Client contract.

Witness Fees
If you need us to provide witness(es), we can do so an an additional cost of $30 per witness. We ask that you give the witness(es) this amount in cash on the day of the ceremony.

Upgrades.
Clients may upgrade to a higher level of service after contract-signing. However, the cost for the upgraded service will be slightly higher than the originally quoted price for the same level of service. This is due to the time needed to issue a new contract, reconfigured Officiant payment and adjust the Client invoice. We urge you to be thorough in selecting your ceremony level in order to avoid additional fees for upgrades. This includes the addition of a rehearsal.

Unforeseen upgrades made on the day of the ceremony will incur a $50 fee in addition to the cost of the upgraded service.

Contract for Services

Upon receipt of fully completed reservation form and nonrefundable reservation fee, Lyssabeth's will e-mail Clients a contract for review and signature. Ceremony date and time are not guaranteed until we have received a fully completed and signed contract. Please note that even though we fill out the information regarding the ceremony on the contract, that it is the Client's responsibility to ensure all the information is correct and to alert the Lyssabeth's office promptly if any of the information is incorrect.

Electronic signatures are utilized in our payment process. It's the easiest way to facilitate Client contracts and gets the signed contract into the Client's hands quickly.

We must receive a signed contract in order for the next steps of the ceremony-writing process to be implemented.

Contract Changes
Any and all changes to the contract must be made in writing to the Lyssabeth's office. The assigned officiant will not be responsible for authorizing changes to the contract. See contract for details.

Cancellation/Refund Policy

All payments made are nonrefundable. When you book a ceremony with a Lyssabeth's Officiant, they reserve that date and time for you and subsequently are not able to accept any other paid bookings for that date and time. Therefore, we expect that contractual obligations will be honored regardless of cancellation.

In the event of cancellation, Clients will be responsible for making full payment as agreed to in the signed contract. Our contract stipulates that payment in full be made within 10 days of cancellation notice.
If circumstances cause Clients to postpone the ceremony to another date, we'll make every attempt to accommodate the new date. There will be a $30 fee for a new contract. If the assigned officiant is available for the new date, then all money paid to date will be transferable if the new date is within six (6) months of the original date, and postponement is notified to the us at least 30 days prior to the original date. There may be additional charges if rescheduling results in extra costs. If the assigned officiant cannot accommodate the new date, then another officiant will be assigned.  If the you do not want to utilize the services of a replacement Officiant, then all monies paid will be forfeited and remaining balance will be due immediately (as per the cancellation terms outlined above). In the event that a new officiant must be assigned, a fee of $50 will be charged to compensate the original officiant for the cancellation. See contract for details.

Additional Terms of Service

Marriage License Clients are responsible for obtaining the marriage or domestic partnership license.  Information regarding the license and where to obtain it will be provided to the you by your Officiant. License information is accurate to the best of our knowledge, but should be confirmed with local licensing authorities.  It is the obligation of the Officiant to mail the marriage license to the issuing County Clerk's office. Officiant will mail license within 24 hours of the ceremony, even when the law allows for a longer time period in which to file the license without penalty. In the event that the license is not received by the County Clerk, the Agency and the Officiant will work cooperatively with the Clients to resolve the issue. Cost for a replacement license, if any, will be assumed by the Clients unless failure to record is due to negligence or error on the part of the Officiant, in which case the Officiant will assume the cost of the replacement license. If Clients do not need the Agency to complete marriage license information (e.g. for a non-legal Commitment Ceremony or Renewal of Vows), then no discount or rebate shall be given.

Officiant Assigned Couple will work solely with their assigned officiant. However, Lyssabeth's will provide a replacement officiant should unforeseen conditions warrant the need for one.

Late Starts
We allow for a 15 minute grace period (10 minutes for Elopements) beyond the scheduled ceremony start time. Although our officiants will make every effort to accommodate a couple whose ceremony starts beyond the grace period (subject to late fees outlined above) we do not guarantee that the officiant will be able to stay for ceremony start times beyond 60 minutes (30 minutes for an Elopement) of the originally scheduled start time.

Upgrades
Each of our ceremony levels has distinct features, inclusions and limitations. Clients are free to upgrade at any time up to seven days prior to the ceremony if they determine that their originally chosen ceremony level no longer meets their needs. If, on the day of the ceremony, Clients elect to add features that are not part of the ceremony level originally contracted (for example, Client books an Elopement with no Guests and then guests indeed do arrive, putting the ceremony into the category of an Elopement with Guests), then it will be necessary for the Client to upgrade and pay for the ceremony level at that time.
Unforeseen upgrades made on the day of the ceremony will incur a $50 fee in addition to the cost of the upgraded service.
Clients may change a ceremony level to a lower-priced level of service than the one for which Clients originally contracted; however, However, there will be no reduction in price once the contract is issued.
Ceremony Selection
The successful performance of a ceremony depends in part on timely communication by the Client to the Officiant regarding Client's choice of ceremony script and any additional wording options that Client would like to include. Subsequently, if ceremony wording selections are not received by the Officiant within fourteen (14) prior to the ceremony date, we reserve the right to make these selections on the couple's behalf.
