Payments
Payment for services All ceremony levels require a $100 nonrefundable partial payment (referred to as the retainer*) with the balance due two weeks before the ceremony date. Couples may also elect to pay in full. There will be a $10 processing fee added to all partial payments. If you elect to pay in full, this fee will be waived.
Our preferred method of payment is via secure Google Checkout. This is the fastest and most secure method to lock in the officiant for the ceremony date and time.
We also accept credit card payments directly over the phone (Visa, Master Card and Discover). Note that if couple elects to pay by credit card directly over the phone, acceptance of Lyssabeth's Terms of Service constitutes credit card owner's authorization to charge credit card for $100 or the full amount, whichever the couple stipulates.
Lyssabeth's will accept checks and money orders by mail but please note that that will cause a delay in our ability to guarantee an officiant for the ceremony date. We cannot guarantee an officiant for the wedding date and time without payment of retainer AND the receipt of the signed contract.
Within 24 hours of receipt of retainer, Lyssabeth's will e-mail the couple a contract for review and signature.
*Couple may choose to pay in full upon booking. There will be a $10 processing fee added to all split payments. If couple elects to pay in full, this fee will be waived.
If balance is not paid in full by seven (7) days prior to the ceremony, officiating services will not be rendered and all prior payments will be forfeited
Additional Fees
Additional fees may include:
Processing Fee for split payments A $10 processing fee is added to all split payments. This will be reflected in the final invoice. If couple chooses to pay in full, this fee is waived.
Late payments Final payments are due two weeks (14 days) before the ceremony date. An invoice will be emailed to the email address of record (provided to us at the time of booking) no later than three weeks (21 days) prior to the ceremony date (i.e. a minimum of one week before the payment is due.) There will be a $25.00 late charge assessed on all payments not received by the due date.
Fees for late starts We ask that ceremonies start within 15 minutes of their scheduled time (10 minutes for elopements). If the officiant is able to accommodate a later start beyond 15 minutes, then we charge $25 for each 15 minute period, or portion thereof, beginning with the original scheduled ceremony start time. One hour is allocated for rehearsals (if this is a service for which the couple has contracted with Lyssabeth's), Beyond one hour, additional charges of $25 per each additional 15-minute increment or portion thereof will be assessed.
Contract Change Fee Changes that require the issuance of subsequent contracts may be subject to additional processing fees.
Day of Wedding Charges to officiant If there are extra charges involved in getting our officiant to your site, we ask that the couple reimburse the officiant for these. These might include: admission fees to your wedding site, park entrance fees, the cost for a ski lift ticket if the ceremony is to be held on a ski slope, or mandatory paid parking (such as in the case in many resort areas).
Contract for Services
Upon receipt of retainer, Lyssabeth's will e-mail couple a contract for review and signature. Ceremony date and time are not guaranteed until we have received a fully completed and signed contract. Please note that even though we fill out the information regarding the ceremony on the contract, that it is the couple's responsibility to ensure all the information is correct and to alert the Lyssabeth's office promptly if any of the information is incorrect.
Electronic signatures are permissible if payment is being made via Google Checkout and electronically signed contract is emailed to us. Physical signatures must be obtained on the contract for payments made by checks or by credit card payments authorized over the phone. If someone other than the bride or groom is making payment with their credit card, then we must secure that party's signature on the contract as the contract also serves as our credit card authorization document. We will be happy to email the contract directly to the payor if their email address is provided.
We must receive your signed contract in order for the next steps of your ceremony-writing process to be implemented.
Contract Changes
Any and all changes to the contract must be made in writing to the Lyssabeth's office. The assigned officiant will not be responsible for authorizing changes to the contract.
Cancellation/Refund Policy
The first $100 of payment is non-refundable if wedding is cancelled, but may be applied to a different date and time (up to 6 months beyond the original date of the wedding) with no penalty, subject to 48 hours notice. Only one re-scheduling per couple is permitted without incurring additional fees and our capacity to reschedule is based on officiant availability for the new day and time.
If couple chooses to pay in full upon booking our services, only the first $100 of the payment is nonrefundable. If couple cancels wedding prior to two weeks before the scheduled date, we will refund all but $100 of your payment (minus 3% of the total amount for credit card processing fees). If your wedding is cancelled less than two weeks prior to the scheduled date, then your full payment is nonrefundable. Refunds are made by check and mailed regular US mail.
Additional Terms of Service
Marriage License The couple is responsible for obtaining the marriage license. This is a government-issued document and we cannot provide this. Officiant will advise the couple on marriage license requirements and procedures for their area and answer any questions the couple has in this regard. After the ceremony, officiant will file the marriage license with the County Clerk's office from which the license was issued. This is done via U.S. Postal Service regular mail and will be mailed within 24 hours of the ceremony.
Officiant Assigned Couple will work solely with their assigned officiant. However, we guarantee a replacement officiant should unforeseen conditions warrant. While we will make every effort to accommodate your choice of officiant for these ceremonies, a specific officiant is not guaranteed for Elopement and Basic Ceremonies.
Late Starts We allow for a 15 minute grace period beyond the scheduled ceremony start time. Although our officiants will make every effort to accommodate a couple whose ceremony starts beyond the grace period (subject to late fees outlined above) we do not guarantee that the officiant will be able to stay for ceremony start times beyond 30 minutes of the originally scheduled start time.
Upgrades Each of our ceremony levels has distinct features, inclusions and limitations. Couples are free to upgrade at any time prior to the ceremony (without financial penalty) if they determine that their originally chosen ceremony level no longer meets their needs. If, on the day of the ceremony, the couple elects to add features that are not part of the ceremony level originally contracted (for example, the couple books an Elopement with no Guests and then guests indeed do arrive, putting the ceremony into the category of an Elopement with Guests), then it will be necessary for the couple to upgrade and pay for the ceremony level at that time.
For Basic, Classic and Premium Ceremony levels. The successful performance of these ceremonies necessitates timely communication of information pertinent to the customizing of the ceremony. Subsequently, if ceremony wording selections are not received by the officiant within three (3) weeks prior to the ceremony date, we reserve the right to make these selections on the couple's behalf.
